Stay Tuned

Hi,     Now that we are volunteers for the 911 rescue, we can help socialize the kittens anytime as long as nothing major has come up. If you live in this area, Morristown, NJ, we recommend coming to the Morristown Animal Hospital to help volunteer with the kittens. Juts come to the hospital, and ask the front desk if you could volunteer and socialize with the cats. They are also in need of cat food at the moment, so donating food would be great. Thank you for reading!                                                                         The Paw-squad

Although she is shy, she will warm up to you eventually. By the end of our visit to the to the animal hospital she had already allowed me to hold her. She truly is a sweet and playful cat. When you first bring bunny home she will do best in a quiet environment. If you are interested in adopting bunny please contact the 911 rescue and don’t forget to comment below. Thanks!

Chip, Adult Parrot

Image
Hi, So for all the bird lovers out there, here is Chip, an adult parrot in need of a home. He is a great guy, and is on the larger side. A bit mouthy he is, like all parrots, so children who have always wanted to touch a parrot's beak, probably won't be the best. Having a male parrot to hang out with him would be great, not an urgent need, but it would be good. As parrots aren't the most popular of pets, here are two links. The first one is to parrot care, and the other to the website with Chip. Thank you, and comment as always! https://lafeber.com/pet-birds/species/parrot/ https://www.petfinder.com/bird/chip-44924131/nj/woodbridge/lonely-grey-rescue-nj775/

Izzie, Iguana

Image
Hi guys,     For all of you who don’t know, an Iguana is a large reptile resembling a lizard. There coloring ranges from brownish green to bright green. In the wild, they live in tropical Mexico, South and Central America, and the Caribbean. But this iguana, Izzie has been domesticated. She is feisty and young and would prefer a home without cats, dogs, or children. She also requires an owner with experience owning iguanas. If you are interested in adopting Izzie please click the link below or contact Humane Society of Bergen County/ Lost Pet Inc. https://www.petfinder.com/scales-fins-others/izzie-45228451/nj/lyndhurst/humane-society-of-bergen-county-lost-pet-inc-nj95/ Picture credits: Petfinder/ Humane Society of Bergen County/ Lost Pets Inc.

Elsa, Luna, Ferrets

Image
Hi y’all,         So you guys are probably thinking, what are they doing advertising a ferret, but if you had read one of our last posts you would know why. We are now not only doing dogs and cats, but also other animals. So here we have another small animal, a ferret named Elsa. She came in with another ferret, Luna, who will also be talked about in this post, and they are both 5 years old. She has been vet checked and up to date on her vaccines, and is well behaved for a ferret. If you want to know about ferret behavior, click on the link below. https://weaselwords.com/ferret-articles/an-owners-guide-to-ferret-behavior/ Luna came in with Elsa, as you know, and she is a senior albino ferret. She is good in a home with cats, but prefers a home without dogs and other animals, and the same is for Elsa. Luna's vaccinations are up to date, and she is a sweet ferret. Summer Pet Safety, Urgent

Image
Hello Bloggers,             Today we are posting to describe a certain issue that often occurs. Picture this: You're walking through the parking lot of your local grocery store and you see a dog sitting inside of a car, and that is awfully thirsty. If you are a citizen of one of the following eight states, California, Colorado, Indiana, Massachusetts, Wisconsin, Florida, Ohio, or Tennessee, you are actually allowed to break the cars' window and take the dog. A dog could be killed in a hot car if left alone. New York also just passed a law that if in the Summer you are to see a dog alone in the car, you can take the dog out. But if you are not in one of those states, you can call the police. But the main point is, don’t leave your dog alone in the hot car. It can be very dangerous, even if you do it only for a minute. Because of dogs fur, they are usually hotter than humans. So in the summer it is pretty uncomfortable when they are put in extreme heat. So e...

Miss Bea, Senior Beagle

Image
Hi guys,       Miss Bea comes from a rural VA shelter where she was found roaming with another dog believed to be her son.  Her teeth are worn down from chewing on wire, rocks, etc. so it is hard to tell her exact age. She is hoping to find a place to stay with a fenced in backyard. She is good with with other dogs and cats, and great with people. If you are interested in adopting this sweet girl please contact the last resort rescue or click the link below for more information. Hope, Hamster

Image
Hey guys,    Hope is a golden Syrian hamster who sadly was surrendered by her previous owners. They said hope was “hissing and growling.” She can be petted but hates being picked up. Because she is fearful she may improve with quiet and gentle handling. It is recommended she finds a home without inconsiderate children. If you have older children, please still consider adopting Hope. If you are interested in adopting Hope, please click the link below.
