Emu’s Adoption!

Image
Hello everybody,         If you remember, over the summer we made a post about a kitten named Emu from the 911 cat and dog rescue. She was a beautiful little Toyger cat, and now, we are happy to announce that she has been adopted! We are so happy for her and we hope that reading this post will promote pet adoptions throughout the country.  Emu had a rough start in life and we are delighted that she has found a forever family that will love her. We love you Emu!                                                  The look love adopt members

Special Needs Cat, Stafford

Image
Hi again, Here is a very loving cat, Stafford, who is diabetic and is FIV+. He needs daily insulin injections. He was found in a backyard congested, flea-infested, and nursing a bite wound. He is a great loving cat and is often found snuggling with his roommate, Sherbet. Stafford enjoys being with people and will be a great house cat. We know most people will think his medical care might be overwhelming, but wants to turn down a loving cat who wants a home? To see more information about Stafford, please visit this link:  https://www.tabbysplace.org/cat/2707/?sponsor=true    Thank you! Stafford

Stay Tuned

Hi,     Now that we are volunteers for the 911 rescue, we can help socialize the kittens anytime as long as nothing major has come up. If you live in this area, Morristown, NJ, we recommend coming to the Morristown Animal Hospital to help volunteer with the kittens. Juts come to the hospital, and ask the front desk if you could volunteer and socialize with the cats. They are also in need of cat food at the moment, so donating food would be great. Thank you for reading!                                                                         The Paw-squad

Bunny, Kitten

Hello bloggers,     Bunny is the last one of the kittens that we met that is up for adoption at the 911 rescue. She, like Emu and Ostrich is a Toyger cat. She is a very pretty kitty. Although she is shy, she will warm up to you eventually. By the end of our visit to the to the animal hospital she had already allowed me to hold her. She truly is a sweet and playful cat. When you first bring bunny home she will do best in a quiet environment. If you are interested in adopting bunny please contact the 911 rescue and don’t forget to comment below. Thanks!

Chip, Adult Parrot

Image
Hi, So for all the bird lovers out there, here is Chip, an adult parrot in need of a home. He is a great guy, and is on the larger side. A bit mouthy he is, like all parrots, so children who have always wanted to touch a parrot's beak, probably won't be the best. Having a male parrot to hang out with him would be great, not an urgent need, but it would be good. As parrots aren't the most popular of pets, here are two links. The first one is to parrot care, and the other to the website with Chip. Thank you, and comment as always! https://lafeber.com/pet-birds/species/parrot/ https://www.petfinder.com/bird/chip-44924131/nj/woodbridge/lonely-grey-rescue-nj775/

Izzie, Iguana

Image
Hi guys,     For all of you who don’t know, an Iguana is a large reptile resembling a lizard. There coloring ranges from brownish green to bright green. In the wild, they live in tropical Mexico, South and Central America, and the Caribbean. But this iguana, Izzie has been domesticated. She is feisty and young and would prefer a home without cats, dogs, or children. She also requires an owner with experience owning iguanas. If you are interested in adopting Izzie please click the link below or contact Humane Society of Bergen County/ Lost Pet Inc. https://www.petfinder.com/scales-fins-others/izzie-45228451/nj/lyndhurst/humane-society-of-bergen-county-lost-pet-inc-nj95/ Picture credits: Petfinder/ Humane Society of Bergen County/ Lost Pets Inc.

Elsa, Luna, Ferrets

Image
Hi y’all,         So you guys are probably thinking, what are they doing advertising a ferret, but if you had read one of our last posts you would know why. We are now not only doing dogs and cats, but also other animals. So here we have another small animal, a ferret named Elsa. She came in with another ferret, Luna, who will also be talked about in this post, and they are both 5 years old. She has been vet checked and up to date on her vaccines, and is well behaved for a ferret. If you want to know about ferret behavior, click on the link below. https://weaselwords.com/ferret-articles/an-owners-guide-to-ferret-behavior/ Luna came in with Elsa, as you know, and she is a senior albino ferret. She is good in a home with cats, but prefers a home without dogs and other animals, and the same is for Elsa. Luna's vaccinations are up to date, and she is a sweet ferret. To learn more about Elsa and Luna, click the links below. Luna:  https://www.petfinder.com/sma...

Summer Pet Safety, Urgent

Image
Hello Bloggers,             Today we are posting to describe a certain issue that often occurs. Picture this: You're walking through the parking lot of your local grocery store and you see a dog sitting inside of a car, and that is awfully thirsty. If you are a citizen of one of the following eight states, California, Colorado, Indiana, Massachusetts, Wisconsin, Florida, Ohio, or Tennessee, you are actually allowed to break the cars' window and take the dog. A dog could be killed in a hot car if left alone. New York also just passed a law that if in the Summer you are to see a dog alone in the car, you can take the dog out. But if you are not in one of those states, you can call the police. But the main point is, don’t leave your dog alone in the hot car. It can be very dangerous, even if you do it only for a minute. Because of dogs fur, they are usually hotter than humans. So in the summer it is pretty uncomfortable when they are put in extreme heat. So e...

Miss Bea, Senior Beagle

Image
Hi guys,       Miss Bea comes from a rural VA shelter where she was found roaming with another dog believed to be her son.  Her teeth are worn down from chewing on wire, rocks, etc. so it is hard to tell her exact age. She is hoping to find a place to stay with a fenced in backyard. She is good with with other dogs and cats, and great with people. If you are interested in adopting this sweet girl please contact the last resort rescue or click the link below for more information. Thank you! https://www.thelastresortrescue.com/available-pets#action_0=pet&animalID_0=13625919&petIndex_0=17 Picture credit: The Last Resort Rescue

Hope, Hamster

Image
Hey guys,    Hope is a golden Syrian hamster who sadly was surrendered by her previous owners. They said hope was “hissing and growling.” She can be petted but hates being picked up. Because she is fearful she may improve with quiet and gentle handling. It is recommended she finds a home without inconsiderate children. If you have older children, please still consider adopting Hope. If you are interested in adopting Hope, please click the link below. Image
Hi, We are not only trying to get cats and dogs in homes, but also other pets, like small animals and birds.    After this post we will be posting more about small mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians etc. So if you are looking for a pet that isn’t quite a cat or dog, this blog is what you should be reading when you go on devices not playing video games. Thank you all for your patience. Photo credit: indianetzone.com

Juno, Akbash mixed

Image
Hello guys,       This sweet momma just gave birth to a litter of six puppies but is only 1-2 yrs old. She is hoping to find a home at a backyard BBQ or even at an ice cream store where she can steal a few licks. She will always there for your good days and your bad, especially when it means she can snuggle on the couch next to you. She is a beautiful dog with a smile that will brighten your life. She is good with all kinds of people but would do best in a home without birds or other small animals. If you are interested in Juno, please click the link below. Tabby's Place Jake and JJ

Image
G'Day Mate! So we were looking at other websites, and we found this sanctuary called The Tabby's Place. It's a cage-free, no-kill shelter, for only cats. It's location is, 1100 US-202, Ringoes, NJ 08551, and there are many cats there! Of course, we will have the link for you to look at, but on this post, I am also going to tell you about one of the cats there. There are two cats at the shelter who are brothers, and their names are Jake and JJ. Jake is the one with the smaller eye, and JJ is to the left. They are both two year old males, who don't need to be adopted together, but it is much recommended. Most people will think Jake only has one eye, but he has microphthalmia, which means one eye is smaller than the other. Jake and JJ are both very friendly and playful, and Jake and JJ are familiar with children and dogs, and JJ is very comfortable with other cats. JJ will look to Jake on guidance and how to act. Here are the links: https://www.tabbysplace.org/c...

What's new people? So along with doing urgent need cats and dogs who need homes, we are also doing cats who have had or have a sickness or disease, such as being diabetic, or being FeLV+, or FIV+, etc. So we have one cat here, Roscoe, and he's a real sweetie. The link doesn't say much, so I'm going to tell you everything from it. He's a young male tabby cat who will always love you, and again, please comment on your thoughts! Thanks!!!

Dani Calico, FIV+

What's up guys,              This sweet girl is only 4 years old but has already survived a major hurricane, hurricane Florence. She also came back positive on a test for feline immunodeficiency virus, A.K.A. FIV, but that doesn't stop her from acting like any other cat. Dani is a lap cat and can even live with other cats, (FIV can only be transmitted through deep bites). If you are interested in adopting her please contact the eleventh hour rescue or click the link below for more information. Thank you! https://www.ehrdogs.org/animals/detail?AnimalID=13590037#prettyPhoto Go to link for pictures. Thanks!

Bonded Pair of cats

Image
Hi again!  So these two cats are not in urgent need, but they are so cute and identical, that I just NEEDED to make a post about them. These two sisters are named Asteria and Marnie, and they start off a bit scared, but don't let that fool you! Marnie loves to be pet, but Asteria, takes longer to adjust. As always, go on the link to read more, and look at more pictures. Thanks!!! https://www.ehrdogs.org/animals/detail?AnimalID=13916658#prettyPhoto

Vance Pit Bull Terrier, URGENT MESSAGE

Image
Hi everybody,         Vance is a 7 year old Pit Bull in urgent need of adoption. Sadly, Vance's last owners had to give him up because of behavior issues with there 2 year old son. He has shown serious resource guarding with other dogs and has a strong prey drive. He would do best in a home without children or other pets. Vance is obedient but takes guarding very seriously. He is good with older and considerate children only, and is not good with cats. We know it will be hard to find Vance a home because of stereotypes against Pit Bulls and him not being good with cats or children but please, if you are interested in adopting him click the link below.  https://www.ehrdogs.org/animals/detail?AnimalID=12971014

Sami or Spanky in Tenessee, URGENT MESSAGE

Image
Hi guys,        Sami and Spanky are two dogs in Tennessee in urgent need of rehoming separately. Sami is a senior black lab mix and he got along with most dogs except Spanky, he is a bit skittish.         We are not sure what Spanky is mixed with, he is 5-7 and is a great farm dog. He is playful but did not like Sami. He loves to carry his blanket with him. If you are interested in Sami or Spanky, please click the link below. Thank you! https://www.ehrdogs.org/animals/detail?AnimalID=14491804               Spanky                               If you go to the link, you will see a picture of Sami also.

Inde terrier, URGENT MESSAGE

Image
Hello everybody,        Inde is another dog urgently in need of adoption. Originally her and her sister Harley were adopted from the Newark shelter, but sadly her family was no longer able to take care of them. Harley has been adopted, but they hope to avoid sending Inde back to that shelter. She knows how to sit, stay, down, and come. If you or any of your friends or family are interested in adopting Inde or any dog you can contact the eleventh hour website or click the link below to "meet" Inde. Thanks!  https://www.ehrdogs.org/animals/detail?AnimalID=13073885

Just The Beginning

Image
Hi! Welcome to Look, Love, Adopt! We are going to be posting about different animals in shelters to help them get adopted. These are animals who have been abandoned, injured, or just in need of a better home. They will be in shelters already while we are posting, but a good animal deserves a good home. Thank you!
